Through January 14 2004 Student Art Show: The Art Institute of Philadelphia Annual Student Art Show continues on display and welcomes graphic design professionals. aiph.aii.edu/events_calendar.asp San Francisco CA: January 10-14 MacWorld Conference and Expo is a comprehensive event for all levels of Mac users. Attendees can benefit from extensive conference programs, demos and test drives of the latest applications, products and services. New Orleans LA: January 15 The Design Biennial Awards Show of the AIGA New Orleans. It was judged by New Yorkers Dan Parham, art director of AOL Music, and designer Karen Ingram. New York NY: January 20 Adobe Partners in Publishing Conference and Expo. The event runs from 9 am to 5:30 pm. The event takes a hard look at the intersection between creativity and digital workflow. In one day, you’ll learn about the tools that make up the Adobe Publishing Platform, “the cornerstone to a seamless blend of creativity and efficiency.” www.adobe.com/partnersinpublishing/NY Los Angeles CA: January 21 The AIGA Los Angeles’ first studio tour of the New Year at The Exhibition Design Department at the J. Paul Getty Museum. The department is made up of a multidisciplinary group of designers from many fields including graphic design, interior design and industrial design. 818.558.3968 Philadelphia PA: January 27 Award winning graphic and broadcast designer Jakob Trollback, a GDUSA “People To Watch” in 2004, speaks to the Art Directors Club of Philadelphia. The topic is Moving Images. San Diego CA: February 3-4 Design Management Institute Seminar: Creating The Perfect Design Brief. Explores why the well-crafted brief is critical to the success of a project and can function as an easy-to-follow roadmap for an entire project Expert Peter L. Phillips leads the sessions. |
Baltimore MD: February 5 AIGA Student Mini Summit is for student chapter presidents and whoever else involved in education would like to participate. Call 410.234.0235 Austin TX: January 31 Earlybird registration for the AIGA Austin Design Ranch ends on this date. The event, with hands-on workshops and live music in the Texas Hill Country, is scheduled for mid-April. Charlene Zvolanek is Design Ranch Director and Diana Guentzel is Registration Chair. New York NY: February 16 The Partnership in Print Production (P3) and the Advertising Production Club sponsor continuing sessions on new production technologies. Up next is Digital Workflow, a follow up to last years digital proofing session. Panelists represent McCann-Erickson, Time Inc. and Adobe. New York NY: Through February 25 365: AIGA Annual Design Exhibition 25 is a juried selection of the best communications design produced in 2003. The exhibition is open to the public and runs through February 25, 2005. Madison NJ: March 2 Insource, a non-profit organization of inhouse designers in the corporate environment, sponsors its first breakfast event of 20045.
