LANCE MALD
New York NY: Earle Palmer Brown names Lance Mald managing partner and chief creative officer. With this new position he has complete responsibility for the $125 million New York office. Prior to joining EPB, Mald was executive vice president, executive creative director for Campbell-Ewald/West where his client list included DIRECTV. In the past, he has handled other sizable accounts such as Burger King, Procter & Gamble, Gallo Wine, British Airways, HBO, General Electric and SmithKline. Earle Palmer Brown is one of the largest independent marketing communications companies, with billings over $400 million.
MONICA PEREZ
San Francisco CA: ATTIK names Monica Perez creative director. Prior to joining ATTIK in 1997, Perez was the creative director at American Showcase, the publishers of Archive magazine and a number of photography and illustration source books. Throughout her career she has earned many honors including a BDA Gold for an Adidas ad; a Promax Gold for launching Sydney's Fox 8 broadcast package; One Show Gold Pencil for a New Media Showcase cover design; and Show 13 Gold and Silver awards for a pair of MTV "X" and MTV "S" broadcast station identities. Perez holds a BA in Graphic Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
JING LAUENGCO
Cleveland OH: Jing Lauengco joins Cleveland-based design studio flourish as a third partner. Lauengco has been involved with the firm since its inception in 1998. As the newest principal, she brings a wide range of design and project management experience to flourish. Her diversity as an illustrator, graphic designer and handlettering artist enables the firm to offer a greater breadth of services to clients. After graduating from Ohio University with a BFA in graphic design and illustration, Lauengco worked as an assistant art director for a print communications agency where she managed and designed creative projects for the Cleveland Botanical Garden as well as the Cleveland Opera. She is an active member of the Cleveland design community, serving as education chairperson on the AIGA/Cleveland board of directors in 1999 and 2000.
JEF MAYER
Dayton OH: Visual Marketing Associates adds one more to their design team. Jef Mayer comes to VMA as a digital designer. During the fall, Mayer worked at the agency as a graphic design intern and now he joins them full time. He holds a BFA in visual communication design from the University of Dayton.
SCOTT SCHNEIDER
Milwaukee WI: Sprecher Bertalot & Company welcomes a new production artist to their creative team. In this position Scott Schneider is responsible for preparing advertisements for print. Previously, he was a production artist with Wisconsin Technicolor. He holds a BFA in graphic design and photography from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
DOUG KLOCKE, AIMEE SPOSITO MARTINI, PAUL ULMER
Cincinnati OH: Photonics Graphics promotes two and hires one. Doug Klocke, design director, has been a member of the Photonics team since 1998. Past projects include the design of posters, corporate identity systems, brochures, web sites, advertising, trade show booths, packaging, as well as textbook covers and layouts. Klocke also brings a business perspective to his design solutions with both a BS in finance from the University of Dayton and a BA in graphic design from The College of Mt. St. Joseph. Aimee Sposito Martini, senior designer, has been a member of the staff since 1996. One of her main projects for the firm has been her work on the Cincinnati Opera, in which she incorporated the surrealist paintings of Rafal Olbinski. She is also a graduate of The College of Mt. St. Joseph. Paul Ulmer, interactive designer, is Photonics' newest hire. In this new position his responsibilities include the development of interactive projects, including web sites, software, CD-ROMS and multimedia projects. Ulmer holds a BA in graphic design with a minor in illustration, also from The College of Mt. St. Joseph.

Newport RI: Fleming & Roskelly hires a new web designer. In her new position, Norma Burnell designs web pages and e-commerce sites. Prior to joining the agency Burnell was employed at the Newport Art Museum, where she created graphics and maintained their web site and database.
ELIZABETH COX, KELLY HANSEN
Lincoln NE: Two join the creative staff at Swanson Russell Associates. Elizabeth Cox and Kelly Hansen are the firm's new production artists. Prior to receiving these positions at SRA, Cox was a freelancer and production artist and Hansen interned in the firm's public relations department. Cox is a graduate of Southeast Community College and holds a degree in commercial art. Hansen is a recent graduate of the University of Nebraska. SRA is a full-service marketing communications firm with more than 120 employees and $50 million in annual billings.

Milwaukee WI: H2D, Inc. welcomes Terry Lutz to the firm. As art director, Lutz shares the decisionmaking responsibilities with H2D's creative director, steering new business ventures and the creative interests of clients. She comes to them with over 13 years of experience and she was recently a Gold Winner in Neenah's Text & Cover competition. H2D is a corporate image management firm, focusing on branding, two- and three-dimensional design and marketing communications.

Burlington VT: Lisaius Marketing promotes Jennifer Raleigh to art director. A graduate of Colby-Sawyer College, Raleigh has worked for Lisaius for the past four years, previously as senior designer. "I am very happy to promote such a talented designer as Jenni to art director," said Joseph Lisaius. "She has innate artistic ability as well as very strong technical skills — a powerful combination." Lisaius Marketing is a graphic design studio and marketing company which specializes in creating innovative artwork and marketing materials for a range of national and local clients. BRAD BEESLEY
Culver City CA: Pittard Sullivan promotes Brad Beesley to the new position of design director within the company's interactive and convergent media group. In his new post, Beesley is responsible for designing selected interactive projects, as well as offering creative leadership to other members of the interactive group. Before coming to the firm in 1998 as a designer, he headed his own design company, Brad Beesley Design, based in Los Angeles. In addition to his interactive work, he has directed live action sequences, high-end 3D, broadcast animation, and digital special effects, involving clients such as IXL, Sony, Disney, Mattel Toys, Warner Bros, Newsweek, and TCI.
DANA YEE, HAEJIN CHO
New York NY: Spontaneous Combustion announces the additions of Dana Yee, design director, and Haejin Cho, senior designer. Yee comes to Spontaneous from Delirium where she was broadband director, working on projects for Burger King, Nasdaq and Hewlett-Packard. In the past she has also done work for A&E Biography, Disney Channel, Discovery Channel, PBS, Lifetime, and ABC. Cho spent two years at RGA as a graphic designer and 2/D animator, concentrating her creative energies on interactive CD-ROM designs, storyboarding concepts and web page design.

Bennington NH: Monadnock Paper Mills has promoted Henry Somer to sales manager, where he will assist in the continuing growth of sales of Monadnock's premium graphic arts printing papers. Prior to joining the company, Somer had 17 years of management experience, working for companies such as American Mail Well and International Envelope. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky.
PATRICK BENNETT
New York NY: Patrick Bennett rises to the position of design director at Goodspeed & Associates. Formerly a designer with the company, Bennett is responsible for the daily overseeing of all creative work. Before joining Goodspeed over a year ago, he held a variety of creative positions in graphic design, web design and consulting for several high-profile magazines and cultural institutions, such as Esquire, Vanity Fair and Dia Center for the Arts. Most recently, he worked as graphic designer at The Pere Partnership, where he oversaw the creation and execution of major campaigns for HBO and Fox. At Goodspeed some of his clients will be Agfa, The New York Yankees, Cablevision Systems, The Topps Company, USA Home Entertainment, Air France and Hamptons International Film Festival. Bennett is also the founder, editor and producer of Why Magazine ( www.whyzine.com), a web-based creative arts magazine that is fast making waves in the digital world.

Burlington VT: Jager Di Paola Kemp Design hires two. As the firm's new colorist, Jill Litwin advises studio design staff and clients on seasonal coloration for product graphics and promotional materials. She comes to JDK with four years of experience in fashion and color palette forecasting. Prior to joining the agency she worked as an assistant designer at Easel in New York. In his new position of web developer/designer, Kevin Kaszuba is responsible for developing solutions for client web sites and web animation projects, as well as handling layout, programming, interface design and animation, bug testing, and the development of new interface models and concepts. He has worked as an online art director for EasternEdge Media and as a web site developer for Citibank New Media.

Avon CT: Don Carter, a 14-year veteran of Mintz & Hoke, joins Adams & Knight Advertising as creative director. Within this new position, Carter heads up the creative department and is actively involved with Bill Knight in new business development. The integrated advertising agency provides print, broadcast, and electronic marketing communication services to a client roster that includes State Street Research, Fidelity Investments, New England Financial, Allmerica Financial, The Hartford, JDS Uniphase, and more.
KEITH HUDGINS, VIVIAN MIZE, AMY GORREK
Canton GA: Grant Design Collaborative boosts its creative quota with Keith Hudgins, Vivian Mize, and Amy Gorrek. Hudgins, director of marketing, was most recently the marketing manager for Telephone.com where he was instrumental in formulating corporate strategy, identifying and evaluating partnerships, and managing the public relations effort. Mize, the company's new senior designer, began her career at Gill Design, where she designed and directed a series of lifestyle books called the Modern Series. From there she moved to Copeland Hirthler (recently renamed Iconologic), where she furthered her experience in strategic brand imaging via print collateral, advertising and web design. Gorrek, the new designer, completed the graphic design program at Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia, while working as an intern for Grant Design Collaborative. She holds a BA from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.

New York NY: DesignWorks NY gears up for its second year of business with the addition of Rose Incardona and Lauren Svendsen to their staff. Incardona, previously operations/production director at Wright Advertising, joins DesignWorks as production director. Svendsen joins the team as a designer. In this position she manages print and web projects for the firm's client roster, which includes American Express and SACO SmartVision.

Morristown NJ: Mary Jane Swenarton joins the DVC Group as creative specialist. In her position she is responsible for overseeing the agency's two art studios, which includes supporting the creative departments in the production of three-dimensional displays, packaging, and presentation boards for agency clients, as well as for new business presentations. Swenarton is a graduate of the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts.
CATHERINE KING, ROBIN REINERS
Seattle WA: Creative Assets appoints Catherine King as president and Robin Reiners as marketing director. King comes to the firm with 20 years of staffing experience. Most recently she served as senior vice president at Adecco Employment Services, where she secured more than $300 million in revenue for the company and attended executive management courses at Harvard Business School. In this new position she oversees day-to-day operations, plans scaleable growth and manages both internal and external expectations. Reiners also joins the firm with a large amount of experience. In the past she has worked with the Visual Communications Group as director of corporate marketing, where she launched several e-commerce brands. Within this role she is in charge of implementing a new brand program, web site, and customer relationship program, along with advertising and public relations to facilitate the growth of the company. King comments: "Creative Assets is clearly expanding to meet the needs of a growing national creative market."

Princeton NJ: Alan Brooks Design introduces new staff to its expanding firm. Dhana Greene joins the firm after six years as an art director and project manager at Merrill Lynch; she is an expert in organization and "knows the status of every project currently in development." Stephen Bronte, who is the new director of interactive media, studied fine arts at Santa Monica College. Since then he has provided freelance web and multimedia services for an impressive portfolio of clients, which includes Martha Stewart Living, Omnimedia, Princeton Internet Group and Chris Collicott Designs. Rebecca Brubaker is a recent graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia where she won the "Best of Quarter" award. She joins the firm as the newest member of their graphic design team. The firm itself has just relocated to 20 Nassau Street in downtown Princeton after enjoying a 25% increase in sales for the year 2000; according to business manager Christine Hough "up to now we have been predominantly a print shop but we're receiving more requests from clients to produce increasingly complex web site work..."

Minneapolis MN: Marketing communications firm Words At Work expands its design and interactive capabilities with a new design director and graphic designer. Serving as design director, Grant Pound leads the company's design group and helps integrate design and interactive into Words At Work's portfolio of strategic communications services. He was formerly the president and education director of AIGA/Minnesota, where he serves as chair of their advisory board. Robyn Meadows, who came to Words At Work in 1999, was promoted to designer from production artist. Meadows holds a BFA in illustration and design from Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio. Words At Work, with offices in Minneapolis and Atlanta, primarily serves technology, financial services and B-to-B solutions clients.

Andover MA: Tepperman/Ray Associates appoints Susan Casey to the position of traffic manager. Casey's responsibilities include the trafficking, scheduling and estimating of all work that comes through the firm. Previously she was manager of operations at Bresette & Company and production coordinator at Harpell. Tepperman/Ray is a marketing communications firm that specializes in strategy, planning and creative services for high technology companies.

Charlotte NC: BOLT has hired Tim Farney as brand strategy design manager. He is responsible for all brand and communications strategies for agency clients. Farney comes with 20 years of experience, most recently as an independent brand consultant under the company name Personify. Previously, he spent nine years at Bank of America where he held creative services and brand management posts.
