Aspen Packaging & Media
When the winner of the Grammy for "Best Retail CD Package of Year" is announced at this month's awards event, graphic designer Bill Dolan and graphic designer and artist Cathy Richardson will be hoping their CD package - The Road To Bliss - takes home the prize. One of five finalists in the category, the package was transformed from concept to reality by Aspen Packaging's engineering department. Once the prototype was approved, explain company officials, Aspen provided an EPS Illustrator template to fit the graphics properly. Such templates are useful in most cases, but with the exacting cross overs and double sided printing of this package, the template was critical. Overall, the services Aspen provided on the project were engineered prototypes, laser comps, contract color proofs, printing/converting, CD replication with screen printing, assembly and fulfillment.

Berthold
Berthold Types is a leading source for high quality, classic typefaces. Founded in 1858 in Berlin, the Berthold foundry is renowned for crafting high quality typefaces, and the company continues this tradition through the efforts of master type designers G.G. Lange, Dieter Hofrichter and Bernd Möllenstädt, who comprise the core of Berthold's Type Atelier in Munich. Berthold exclusively offers the 800+ classic typefaces comprising the Berthold Exklusiv Collection, including the highly regarded Akzidenz-Grotesk typeface design. Berthold first published Akzidenz-Grotesk, the original sans and most influential grotesque, in 1896. Through the years, it has been consistently improved, adding to its universal appeal. Available in normal, condensed and extended widths, Berthold added italic weights, plus light small caps in 2001. All 33 weights have design-specific Euro, math and symbol characters. Most recently, Berthold created Central European, Baltic and Turkish language character sets for Akzidenz-Grotesk to address the typographic needs of the expanding European Union as well as multinational corporations.
