Los Angeles CA: Chase Design Group adds Tatiana Redin to the creative team. Redin is working on projects for Mattel and Kama Sutra. Previously, Redin worked as a designer for several firms, including Creative Development Associates in Pasadena and Scribble, a toy and product design studio in Venice CA. She is a graduate of Art Center College of Design. Margo Chase, founder of Chase Design Group, made the announcement, saying that Redin's "skills and creative vision are exceptional."

New York NY: ZONA Design, a motion design and branding studio, continues its expansion with the addition of motion art director Fabien Leon and designer/composite artist Simon Potter to its roster. The much-honored Leon has freelanced as a composite artist/motion designer since moving to New York in March 2002. Working with a number of area studios, including Riot Manhattan, UVPhactory, Verb Media, LoyalKaspar and ZONA, he has executed network redesign packages for HBO, Sci-Fi Channel, Biography Channel and VH1, and promo packages for A&E, History Channel, ESPN International, Bravo and New York 1 Noticias, among others. Potter, prior to this current post, freelanced for a number of companies, including DVD projects for Panasonic through Monkey Clan, and a marketing campaign for Hunter Mountain. Earlier, as a web designer, he designed, produced and maintained sites for Tess Steinkolk Photographer, Modernista! and Mod. And from 2000 to 2002, Potter was on staff at Neeson/ Pearl as senior broadcast designer completing work for Discovery Channel, HGTV and Metro TV. todd gallentine

Burlington VT: Kelliher Samets Volk adds Todd Gallentine as creative director. Gallentine works with current creative director Bill Drew, leading creative teams on such accounts as CCBT Financial Companies, Sugarbush Resort, Vermont Energy Investment Corporation and the Vermont Department of Health. Gallentine was formerly a vice president/group creative director at Hill, Holliday in Boston, and before that, partner/group creative director at Weiss Stagliano Partners in New York. He has also held posts at Deutsch and Ammirati Puris Lintas.

New York NY: The Board of Directors of ImageState PLC appointed Leslie Hughes as ceo of ImageState and group ceo designate of the company. The well-respected Hughes brings a wealth of experience in the visual and digital media sectors to the company. She was previously president of Corbis' Markets and Products Group where she had responsibility for the creative professional licensing business, the consumer and entertainment businesses, and much more. She has also served as senior vice president, worldwide sales, for The Image Bank, then a subsidiary of Eastman Kodak. Most recently, she headed Elisar Software Corporation. Omaha NE: Robert Mucciaccio is the newly named partner in charge of creative at Bozell & Jacobs, LLC. Muccaiccio joined the venerable agency in 1998, serving first as design director. In 2001, he was promoted to the post of creative director. Mucciaccio's clients at Bozell have included First National Bank, American Tool Companies, Mutual of Omaha and College World Series of Omaha. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art, and also studied at the Boston Museum School of Fine Art. Mucciaccio's career in graphic design began with a stint at Hill, Holliday Advertising. Bozell & Jacobs is an employee-owned agency, formed over 80 years ago by Leo Bozell and Morris Jacobs. Clients include ACI, Arby's, CBS Home, ConAgra, MidAmerican Energy and Valmont Wind Energy.

Philadelphia PA: SFGT carves out a newly created position for Robin Farrell Patterson. The post, advertising manager, combines print production, traffic management, some creative and some account responsibilities. All non-broadcast work, including print advertising, direct mail, collateral and internal promotion, are involved. SFGT's Sarah Lenhard describes the position as "the focal point for scheduling, account contact, creative coordination and production follow-through for all the agency's non-broadcast projects." SFGT is a $21 million full-service agency serving Coca-Cola, Timberlane and Gap International, among others.

Laurel MD: Dever Designs, a strategic design studio that creates publications and identity systems for corporations and associations, expands its creative team. Caroline Cruz has been brought on board as a graphic designer/project manager. She will function as a client liaison, with responsibilities for project management, design and production. Cruz brings six years' experience to the post, including a stint at Particle. Her specialties are publication, packaging and marketing creative, as well as brochure and website design. She will work with clients like the Association of Corporate Councils, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, NACT and the Liberty Campaign.

Santa Monica CA: Baker Designed Communications, an integrated brand communications firm, appoints Matthew Kruchko as director of branding and marketing. Kruchko brings over 11 years of experience in strategic corporate communications, design and marketing. The University of Southern Maine graduate previously served as senior account manager and new business development leader at a San Diego-based brand and design agency, as well as vp of business development at a Portland ME agency. He has led marketing and communications efforts on behalf of several Fortune 500 clients. For two decades, Baker Designed has built business brands from its Santa Monica headquarters.

New York NY: G2 Worldwide announces two new hires. Jerry Blanton and Deidre McMennamin have both assumed the post of partner. Blanton has held several senior level branding and marketing positions, including stints as McCann-Erickson, matchFIRST and SBi, Inc. He brings to G2 experience in technology, finance, beverages and retail sectors. McMennamin's previous experience included senior-level posts at desgrippes gobé group, Xceed and Ultra 16. She has in-depth experience in retail, beauty and fashion. G2, a global brand consultancy with ties to Grey Advertising, has a client roster including BellSouth, Kmart and GlaxoSmithKline.

Denver CO: Norm Shearer has been appointed creative director of Cactus Marketing Communications. Shearer brings more than nine years' experience to the post, having established a highly regarded track record while working on a wide variety of accounts, including the likes of The Denver Post, Denver Water, Johns Manville, Keystone, The National Sports Center for the Disabled, New Century Energies, Noodles & Company, Red Robin Restaurants and Rhino Records. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder and the Art Center College of Design. Cactus specializes in integrated advertising, design and interactive services.

Boston MA: AIGA Boston has honored Nancy Skolos, of Skolos/Wedell, with the 2003 AIGA Fellows Award for having endeavored to raise the standards and practices of the regional design community. Skolos works with her husband, photographer Thomas Wedell, creating posters that blur the distinction between photography and design. The experimental works have earned both of them many awards, and have also been installed in numerous museum collections. Many of Greater Boston's leading graphic design people, such as Clifford Stolze, Michael McPherson and Elizabeth Resnick, attended the ceremony, as did former AIGA Boston president Marc English..

Columbus OH: Allison Willis joins House of Krauss Graphic Design Studio as associate designer. Willis recently graduated cum laude from Ohio University with a BFA in graphic design. While at Ohio, she received several awards for her work, including the Charles Logan Smith Award of Excellence in Design. House of Krauss is a creative design and strategic marketing services firm. Clients include Bath & Body Works, General Motors Acceptance Corporation, Cheryl&Co., the Ohio Department of Travel and Tourism and Longaberger.

Boston MA: The VIA Group promotes Robin Swennes to senior production designer. Swennes formerly held the post of production designer, serving a variety of the agency's accounts. Prior to joining VIA in 2001, Swennes spent four years at S.T. Vreeland in Yarmouth ME, and seven years at Imageset of Portland ME. She is a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono. VIA is a marketing and communications agency that helps companies grow in complex business environments by developing and deploying measurable marketing initiatives. Clients include Analog Devices, American Skiing Company, Banknorth Group, BrownCo, Fluor Corporation, Raytheon Company and Scotts.

Boston MA: Jeff Johnson is named chief creative officer of Boston interactive agency BigBad, Inc. Johnson leads BigBad's creative, strategic and visual design efforts, working with clients to define and establish direction on all projects. He will also work with the agency's other functional groups to ensure best practices and methodologies. This is a promotion for Johnson, who came to BigBad three years ago. He recently completed projects for Pratt & Whitney, LoJack, Simmons College, Harvard University and Boston University.

Pittsburgh PA: Jay Giesen joins Blattner Brunner as creative director. In this post, he will be primarily responsible for the Zippo Manufacturing, Sky Bank and Rockford Health Systems accounts. Previously, Giesent was principal/creative director at The Pittsburgh Agency and, before that, creative director at Egan/St. James and Marc-USA. A graduate of The Portfolio Center, Atlanta, his work has garnered numerous awards. Blattner Burnner describes itself as a "non-traditional" advertising agency specializing in integrated advertising, public relations, customer relationship management and e-business strategies. Clients include H.J. Heinz and GlaxoSmithKline.

San Francisco CA: April Greiman and Harry Marks both recently received honorary doctoral degrees from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. The awards ceremony was presided over by the college's president, Elisa Stephens. The Academy of Art College regularly presents honorary degrees to artists and designers from around the world whose work is felt to exemplify the highest standards of excellence and made them elites in their fields.

New York NY: FutureStock is putting its future in the hands of Andrei Lloyd. The ten-year veteran of the photography industry has been tapped to be the stock agency's president. Lloyd was previously executive vice president at The Stock Market (TSM), where he directed strategy for market expansion. He successfully transformed TSM from an analog picture company to a streamlined digital image resource. Now, Lloyd will develop FutureStock's worldwide marketing and sales, expand its image catalog and manage the firm's overall strategy. FutureStock is reportedly the world's largest independently owned stock photography agency.

Traverse City MI: Idea Stream, a fast growing Michigan marketing communications firm, adds Kristen Lensch as senior designer. Lensch is charged with designing advertising and marketing campaigns for the firm's host of clients, including Second Chance Body Armor and Tribal Motor Works. Prior to joining Idea Stream, the Columbus College of Art and Design graduate led the creative team at The Interger Group in Denver.

Sun Prairie WI: Carrie Chase joins CTI Paper USA as marketing coordinator. Chase oversees and executes all marketing functions relating to the paper company's Commercial Papers and WorldWin divisions. In this post, she reports directly to new president Daniel King. Chase brings more than six years of marketing communications experience to CTI. Most recently, she worked for Waldbillig and Besteman, headquartered in Madison WI, and before that for Lownik Communication Services. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, she majored in journalism, with an emphasis on advertising and public relations. CTI manufactures, imports and designs papers of extraordinary quality for the commercial printing and retail markets.

Columbus OH: Dascenzo Creative has appointed its first art director. Nikia Reveal was tapped for the newly created post, and is now managing art direction and graphic design for DCI's growing client base including Limited Brands, Worthington Steel, Columbus State Community College, Easton, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Previously, Dascenzo served as visual commununications manager for the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce, where she oversaw creative direction for all visual communications. Reveal is a graduate of Ohio University, where she earned a BS in visual communications, while also specializing in journalism, linguistics and art history.
