msp assures that success comes ‘now’
When Boise launched Now@BoisePaper, a new program that lets printers order paper online, they required an identity that reflected the benefits of the program itself: simplicity and directness. Madison Sproul & Partners, a San Francisco-based marketing and communications firm, helped create the launch package, including the name, the graphic standards, direct mail materials, advertising and collateral. One of the most important pieces is the swatchbook. It needed to be both a branding piece and a resource for printers to use on a daily basis. By visually leveraging other examples of innovation, the firm developed a piece entitled, What Is Now? The answer is: “Successful.” The response has been enthusiastic, and plans are under way to adapt to this changing market. Madison Sproul & Partners provides consulting, design, direct response and mass/general advertising services. Other clients include First American Title, Aspect Communications, Neopost, Safeway and Wells Fargo.

shaping public perceptions
Perceptions is the title of the 2004 catalog of winning entries from Fraser Papersí Design Inspiration Awards (DIA) program. The DIA is an annual competition honoring excellent design that incorporates Fraser Papers. Douglas Joseph Partners designed the catalog, as well as a coordinated series of exhibits that will showcase the winning entries at events throughout North America. Although the 18 winning entries are the focus in this latest promotion, the theme of ěperceptionsî is a casual nod to the role designers play in shaping the publicís perception of companies, products and services. Doug Joseph (pictured above) is more than up to the task, as his award-winning firm designs consumer and business-to-business marketing programs for clients representing a myriad of industries nationwide. Clients include Designweave, Vent-A-Hood, Kneedler|Fauchere, Rolex, and Univision Communications. Contact: 800.543.3297 or www.fraserpapers.com

ferrario dreams of italy
How often during the course of our travels do we experience a magical, irresistible attraction to the mass of colors and shapes which meets our eye in market stalls and bazaars overflowing with locally made crafts? It is that feeling and the mementos of the places we visit that keep the sensations alive that inspire this promotional piece for Gruppo Cordenonsí Stardream paper. Utilizing the Italian-made paperís iridescent pearly metallized colors, designer Laura Ferrario (pictured above) presents a display of Italian memories: exotic sights, picturesque gondolas, stunning vistas, majestic cathedrals and even a postage stamp. Her message is that ěusing techniques such as embossing, silk-screen printing, thermographic and gold offset printing, fluorescent colors and laser piercing, even everyday objects can be transformed into little works of art.î Ferrario studied at the Graphic Design Polytechnic of Milan and later followed a specialized course at the European Design Institute under the direction of Bob Noorda. Her firm is called Ferrariodesign, and clients run the gamut from electronics and jewelry and paper, to wine and roofing and footwear companies.
