Writes BBK principal Yang Kim: “It’s always difficult to come up with something new for the holidays. What are we going to do this year to top last year? A card? A basket of overpriced snacks? Gift certificates to a spa? We thought something that would lend itself to a series would relieve the pressure — wrapping paper! Everybody uses wrapping paper. At the very least, it would help those people who wait to wrap their presents on Christmas Eve. The idea was practical, in the sense that we didn’t have to struggle to come up with something brilliant every year. At the same time, it’s interesting. We get to have fun with a new pattern. A designer’s dream.”

“The Etheridge Company prides itself on both its four-color process work and its ability to handle complex assembly projects in bindery. The series of cards we designed for them showcase both talents. This year, we designed a die-cut piece that mailed flat and hooked together to create a flower shape. Another year involved garland that spells Happy Holidays. A third year, we mailed a festive piece of paper that assembled into an origami ball.”
