Papier Couture

What can you do with paper and a color printer? The graphic designer, Lia Griffith, created couture. The Venus Collection is a stunning collection of evening wear made of carefully designed, colorful paper pieces that were printed using a Xerox Phaser 7300. Griffith's concept originated from a photo shoot for Xerox that sought to explore color and creativity. The Venus Collection recently debuted at an AIGA-sponsored event in Portland OR.

Cool Brittania

Soho House New York tapped Third Eye Design to promote British Week, a series of themed events held during the summer at the exclusive private members' club and hotel in Manhattan. The project comprised a poster campaign, menus, cocktail lists and invitations. Third Eye is a design consultancy with offices in New York NY and Glasgow, Scotland.

Hotter Than A Match Head

"When I was approached by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to design the poster for their Summer in the City event, I swung back in my chair and played air guitar to celebrate," says Von R. Glitschka, the principal of Glitschka Studios, a graphics firm in Salem OR. Glitschka's design employs a flaming guitar motif that is sharpened by a customized typeface and a unique texture. Summer in the City is a series of free rock concerts in Cleveland that is sponsored by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Package design by Bailey Group for the new vodka spirit, p.i.n.k., seeks to convey the intensity of the product. p.i.n.k., a premium vodka infused with caffeine and guarana, is bottled in a straight-edged, sharp-angled glass container that radiates a pink glow.
