GIAMPIETRO + SMITH DESIGN 85TH ADC ANNUAL
The just-released Art Directors Annual 85 documents and archives the winners of the ADC's 2006 competition for the best in visual communications worldwide. Rob Giampietro and Kevin Smith of Giampietro + Smith designed the 450-page book, using a vertical motif to suggest a three-dimensional view of the prized ADC Cube. The designers also updated Gotika, a classic typeface, for the cover and chapter and section heads. The first annual was published in 1920.
