Hairspray For Tweens
SJI Associates collaborated with New Line Cinema to create this style guide for the film "Hairspray." The guide, which captures the aesthetic of the early 60s, while updating it appeal to the movie's target audience of tweens, was used to create products and packaging for retail sale during the film's run. Creative credits go to Senior Designer Marie Coons and designers Matt Birdoff, Adrienne Pope, Dave O'Hanlon and Jon Lyness. SJI was founded by Suzy Jurist and is based in New York City.
Brazilian Sole
BBDO New York crafted the first global advertising push for the hot Brazilian flip-flop brand, Havaianas. The campaign, which launched in mid-Spring and includes print ads, web-based animated shorts and murals, aims to build on the fun, colorful and passionate qualities that the Havaianas brand is already associated with in Brazil. Of particular note are the BBDO-designed, building-sized murals featuring giant, 3-D Havaianas thongs. The campaign carries over the spirit of Havaianas' Brazilian advertising, which is handled by a BBDO New York affiliate, Almap BBDO.
The People's Princess
VH1 partnered with the design and branding company Bombastic on the graphics package for the highly-anticipated recent Concert for Diana. The concert paid tribute to Princess Diana and raised funds for the charities she supported during her lifetime. The concert's graphics allude to the tribute of flowers that followed Diana's funeral and evokes how the people's princess connected with friends, family and those in need. Bombastic's Jamie Slomski served as CD and designer, Chris Uhrich as designer/VFX and Brian Friel as producer.
