Modernista! hires Boyd Coyneras Executive Creative Director and
Managing Partner of its European office in Amsterdam. Hiring Coyner
signifies a push by Modernista! to build a creative hub in Europe, where
it has had a presence since 2006 in Amsterdam primarily to service the
HUMMER account. Coyner was most recently Creative Director at Wieden
+ Kennedy Amsterdam, where he ran the Nike Europe account.
Public relations and advertising firm Crosby/Wright hires Thomas TJ
DeGarmoas Art Director. De Garmo has worked at 944 Magazine, Healthways,
Dermacare Laser and Skincare Clinics and Sandstrom OnTV Company.
Bob Loughran, a 15-year veteran in the graphic industry, joins Ashworth
Creative of Rhinebeck. Loughran will be the firm’s inhouse Photoshop
expert.
Melissa Markusjoins Falk Harrison Creative as an Assistant Art Director.
Markus is a recent graduate of Maryville University, where she earned a Bachelor
of Fine Arts degree, with an emphasis on graphic design.
Senior Art Director Teresa Jay joins Donahoe Purohit Miller, Inc., a healthcare
marketing and communications firm in Chicago, IL. Jay brings with her a
background in logo design and branding and visualizing medical and pharmaceutical
concepts.
Larsen announces a slew of new hires in Minneapolis and California as it builds its
interactive team and boosts business development efforts. In Minneapolis, Jim
Madison, president of AIGA Minnesota, joins as Director of Business Development;
Arnold Andres Portasas Interactive Designer; Jason Brierlaesy Account Executive and
Nick Richtears Interactive Developer. Larsen’s California office adds Wei
Tien Pang and Akiko Itoas Contract Designers, while Mike Hardingi's hired as Account
Executive.
LPK promotes Geoff Thomas and Stacey Rudoltof Group Director position from
their previous roles as Brand Design Strategists. Thomas, in his new role, will lead
initiatives on surface-care brands, while Rudolf leads innovation and business
opportunities on the Kellogg’s brand. The Cincinnati, Ohio design agency
also promotes Marc Wendtto Design Director, where he is charged with leading
design on the Pringles brand.
DMG, Chinas’s largest independent advertising and marketing firm, hires
Copywriter Ryan Falchand Art Director Troy Andersonf or its Beijing operation. The
creative duo previously worked together at Mullen, in Winston-Salem. In their new
positions, they will contribute to the VW team that is preparing VW’s
engagement as a sponsor of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
The Jones Group promotes three creatives to senior positions. Kendra Lively, who
joined the firm in 2002 as a junior designer, becomes Creative Director, while Matt
Worsham and Chris Lowndes are both elevated to Art Director. The Jones Group,
an Atlanta-based marketing and design firm, has more than doubled in size in the
past 18 months, says company president Vicky Jones.
The Creative Alliance, a public relations and marketing firm based in Lafayette,
CO, hires David Chiowas Creative Director. Chiow has more than 20 years
experience, most recently working as a senior art director with The Walt Disney
Company. Previously, he ran Chiow Communications, an advertising and design
firm in St. Louis, Mo.
Denver Designs, a Laurel MD design studio, hires Brett Meliti as Designer and
Project Manager. A graduate of Southern Adventist University’s School of
Visual Art and Design, Denver Designs says Meliti will bring fresh strengths in
illustration and typography to his new role.
Ideapark hires Jeffrey Gorder as President of the firm, a newly created position.
Gorder was previously at Little & Company, where he repositioned the
direction of the agency. Gorder also worked at Campbell Mithun, Marvin Windows,
WAMINET and owned his own marketing agency, The Gorder Group.
Graphic Systems Group appoints Dinah Davidson to the new role of Chief
Sustainability Officer, bringing to the job her more than 25 years experience in
the image reproduction and graphic arts. Davidson has worked at NY-based GSG
since June 2006 and was most recently Director of Production Strategies and
Resources.
As the firm’s first CSO, she will focus on developing and implementing
internal and client programs to reduce the production agency’s impact on
the environment and maximize efficient use of resources.
