FEATURE | PEOPLE TO WATCH IN 2010
GDUSA starts every year by choosing a group of
People To Watch who embody the spirit of the
creative community. The criteria: individuals who
we have come to know and respect for a combination
of talent, leadership, success, insight, business
savvy, community service and newsworthiness. In a
field so deep in talent and intelligence and
achievement, this is clearly a subjective
process. Still, over four decades, it has seemed
to work out: the roster is star-studded and the
2010 group only adds to the luster.
STUDENTS TO WATCH IN 2010
Our first Students To Watch special report to identify
some of the top art and design students at top schools,
and to understand what motivates them to become
graphic designers. The inaugural report provides a
firm foundation — participants include the
School of Visual Arts, Pratt, Parsons The New School
For Design, Academy of Art University, and other
leading institutions — for a new tradition.
DESIGNER-FRIENDLY DIRECTORY
Every year for several decades, we have spotlighted
the companies and institutions that provide first-rate
products and services to creative professionals,
adding value and finding solutions, communicating
with and standing behind our community.
SALARY SURVEY
In a challenging economy, understanding salary trends
in the design field can help you negotiate pay for
a new position or get a better sense of how your
compensation stacks up. The Creative Group's 2010
Salary Guide looks at hot jobs, in-demand skills,
and the areas that actually are seeing salary gains.
