Posters Promote Political Freedom
Top graphic designers worldwide, including R.O. Blechman, Seymour Chwast, Massimo Vignelli and Milton Glaser, have created more than 125 posters in support of the Green Movement in Iran. The Where is My Vote? posters are on display in a world
premiere exhibition at the School of Visual Arts through September 25. The exhibition showcases the power of design to inspire social change. Following the elections in Iran in 2009, an Iranian photographer who goes by the name Green
Bird, urged graphic artists around the world to create posters in support of the Green Movement. One artist he approached, Italian designer Andrea Rauch, volunteered to host all the posters on the website SocialDesignZine, the blog
of the Association of Italian Graphic Designers, where Rauch serves as editor. The influx of posters was so great that eventually an exhibition was inevitable
and SVA was tapped to play host.

TDA Packaging Goes Nuts
TDA Advertising & Design has developed new package design for Justin's Nut Butter of Boulder CO, a
company producing small batches of natural and organic nut butters. Working for the first time with Justin's, TDA was charged with creating fun packaging for plastic
jars and foil squeeze packs that signaled the brand's natural and culinary qualities. Creative Directors Thomas Dooley and Jonathan Schoenberg led the project, with Barrett
Brynestad handling design, illustration and hand lettering. The brand has eight varieties; the plan is to have them distributed in fine food outlets such as Wholefoods and
Dean & DeLuca, without jeopardizing existing sales at supermarkets including Safeway and Kroger.

Seeking to express both the duality and bold action that marks the spy thriller, Nina Saxon Design created
main and end titles for Columbia Pictures' Salt starring Angelina Jolie. The design production studio, based in Santa Monica CA, says the Salt project marks its 500th
design project; other title projects have including The Departed, Cider House Rules, The Hunt for Red
October, Forrest Gump and Rush Hour.
