Mark Ganton, a Principal of the multidisciplinary branding and advertising firm of Brian J. Ganton & Associates, was honored for his “extraordinary contributions of time, talent or treasure that have greatly advanced the mission of Seton Hall University” at the recent annual alumni awards gala. Ganton was recognized for his vision, leadership and continued dedication to the University ‒ currently on the Seton Hall Board of Regents, he served as President of the Seton Hall Alumni Association from 2009 to 2011. Among his many contributions, Ganton was lauded for teaching and advising classes students on best practices in marketing and advertising. Named one of New Jersey’s 40 most dynamic business leaders under the age of 40 by NJBIZ, as well as a “Person to Watch” by GDUSA, Ganton has led and managed marketing initiatives, advertising and brand development for a diverse portfolio of businesses including award-winning work for Construction Specialties, DuPont, Oldcastle, Pergo, Reader’s Digest and Rubbermaid.
Mad*Pow adds Rich Woodall as a Visual Designer. He comes to Mad*Pow with 18 years of graphic design/illustration experience. A month after high school graduation, he was plucked by Fruit of the Loom’s Sports and Licensing Division. He honed his illustration skills there, then became Art Director for Logotel, overseeing designs for its apparel lines, including Dr. Seuss and South Park. In 2000, Woodall “heard the siren song of the Internet,” spending the next 12 years at PixelMEDIA. The 50-person Mad*Pow experience design agency based in Portsmouth NH is headed by Amy Cueva.
Chris Roe, Founder and Executive Creative Director of motion graphic design studio, Fish Eggs, has hired TJ Welch as Executive Producer and Andrew Marshall as Senior Designer. In adding Welch, Fish Eggs is further strengthening their live-action production capabilities. He has more than 12 years of design, branding, marketing and production experience. With Andrew Marshall, Fish Eggs adds an Emmy-award winning designer with eight years of experience in Broadcast Animation.
TFI Envision, Inc. names Catherine Smith as Communications Coordinator. Her background is in communications, marketing, demand planning and logistics. She comes to the Norwalk CT design firm after a 25 year career at Ricoh. Since 1975, TFI Envision, Inc. has specialized in developing branding strategies and systems, digital, web and social media solutions, corporate communications programs, and packaging and promotion solutions.
Rosemary Murphy has been named the 2012 AIGA Philadelphia Fellow, the highest award the chapter can grant. She has more than 25 years of experience in the graphic design business. She is founder and Creative Director of Murphy Design, as well as adjunct faculty member at Moore College of Art & Design. Murphy has successfully designed projects for a variety of sectors, including financial services, Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, nonprofit organizations, hospitality industry, colleges and universities. She has also served the AIGA chapter in numerous capacities.
Late this summer, Maruchi Santana, the Chief Client Officer at Parham Santana, served as a judge for the 2012 Miss Teen USA® Competition. The event took place at Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Santana was chosen because she has devoted much of her energy and effort throughout her 20+ years in the business to empowering women and teen consumers. Working with clients such as Teen Vogue, Target, and Girl Scouts of the USA, to name a few, she has stayed connected by constantly communicating with teens. At the time of her selection, she said: “It’s a thrill and an honor to help select a teen representative who will provide a great role model and promote confidence, leadership and values to other teens around the world.”
Clara Henning has been appointed to the newly created position of Director of Strategy and Innovation at Dragon Rouge’s New York office. She has ten years of experience in branding, most recently as Senior Strategist at Siegel+Gale. Prior to that, she worked at Vivaldi Partners and Desgrippes Gobe. Clients across many disciplines include Wrigley’s and Pepsi, HP and SAP, Johnson & Johnson and Novartis, and Ruth’s Chris and Mitchell’s Fishmarket. She holds an MA in Global Marketing Communications and Advertising from Emerson College in Boston.
Jeremy Gilberto joins Red Tettemer as Art Director, having held the same post at Arc Worldwide/Leo Burnett in Chicago. Reporting to Executive Creative Director and Partner Steve O'Connell, Gilberto is working on the Dial for Men, Century 21 and Planet Fitness accounts. “What drew me to RT+P,” he says, “was their 'idea is boss' philosophy ... not to mention the free beer.” His work has been featured in CMYK Magazine's Top 100 New Creatives.
Zambezi, a Venice Beach CA-based branding firm, has upped Kevin Buth to Creative Director. The fourth employee in at the firm, he has worked on campaigns for vitaminwater, popchips and Sprite as well as on the Jennifer Aniston Sex Tape viral film which made it to No.1 onYouTube's Most Viewed Today list. He works closely with Zambezi co-founder and Executive Creative Director Brian Ford, helping oversee and manage all company accounts.
